About me and my story: 

Hello my name is Ann Marie. I am a mother of three wonderful children. I am starting this online journey to preserve the old ways of living for my future family. In this day and time it is called homesteading, but when I was growing up it was simply called life living off the land, using what you had, and knowing which home remedies to take when you are were under the weather.

My love of homesteading began when I was every young, and blessed to be the shade of my Nannie and Papa. From the moment I could walk, my Papa had me in the garden, helping alongside him, and teaching me without me even realizing it. Over the years, my ability to help grow and so did my knowledge.

As I became a young wife and mother, I was fortunate to continue that learning and growing, having my Grandparents just a short drive or call away. My Nannie would always share how she did things when her children or even I where little. One of my favorite conversations was with my Papa when he was in his eighties. He told me that he was not as young as he used to be and needed help around the garden. I told him I would be his muscles if would teach me everything he knew and why we did it that way. He agreed, and I was blessed to be is apprentice for many years until his passing.

One of favorite sayings was, “Knowledge is the one thing that know one can take from you, so learn all that you can.” I am here to make sure that the old knowledge lives on.
